Revive Salon & Spa is a premier provider of Exilis in San Diego. Exilis is an exceptionally safe and effective aesthetic device that delivers highly controlled, volumetric heating to tissue for measurable cosmetic results. Scientifically proven and clinically tested, Exilis uses focused Radio Frequency (RF) technology to redefine appearances by reducing wrinkles, treating laxity and reshaping targeted fat deposits—from head to toe—in just four comfortable treatment sessions.
The key benefit of Exilis is its ability to target focused RF with the ideal combination of heating and cooling to achieve the best cosmetic outcome with minimal discomfort. Thanks to excellent aesthetic results, high satisfaction has been universally reported by patients and providers.
There is no anesthesia, no side effects and no downtime after Exilis treatments. Optimal results can be achieved in as little as four sessions over a period of one to two months. Each session is about 30 minutes in length.
Exilis Reduces Fat and Contours the Body
Exilis uses dual function radio waves to volumetrically heat the deeper tissues, and then blasts the fat cells with the radiofrequency heat to ramp up their metabolic activity and shrink them. Through clinical studies it has been demonstrated that the Exilis radio frequency stimulates the fat cell to emulsify (liquefy) the fat within the cell. The liquefied fat moves from inside the cell through a temporary pore formed in the cell membrane to outside the cell where it is in the interstitial space until absorbed by the lymphatic system. This results in millions of fat cells becoming smaller so inches are reduced off the waist, hips and thighs. The fat cells are not injured in any way by this process.
What can I expect at my appointment?
Each appointment will begin with taking pictures and measurements of the areas to be treated. Then we will mark the body zones to be treated, attach a grounding pad on the shoulder or thigh, connect it to the Exilis machine and begin the treatment. The clinician will apply mineral oil to the area to be treated and begin using the body applicator in a circular motion. You will enjoy a warm sensation during the treatment time. The treatment is nearly painless. Treatment time varies, but it averages about eight minutes per area. Immediately after the treatment you may return to your normal activities immediately with absolutely no downtime, no pain, swelling or any discomfort.
What areas of the body can I use Exilis on?
The Exilis treatments can be used effectively on essentially every part of the body where localized fat deposits exist that are resistant to diet and exercise. Most patients start with treating the waist, hips and thighs. Other areas include upper arms, bra-line fat, inner knees, back fat and buttocks.
How many treatments will I need?
The recommended course of treatment is generally four sessions, one every week. You may have additional treatments if desired.
Is it safe?
Exilis has been tested in clinical studies and proven to be safe and effective. It has been cleared by the FDA in the U.S. for use in dermatologic and aesthetic procedures with indications for non-invasive treatment of wrinkles and rhytids.
Are there any contraindications?
Yes. If you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant, Exilis should not be used. Additionally, if you have a pacemaker or any other implanted electronic device, you will be unable to undergo this treatment. Exilis may not be as effective on clients with diabetes or thyroid disorders where the metabolic system is potentially impaired.
What about recovery?
There is absolutely no downtime. During the treatment you should feel only minimal discomfort. No anesthesia will be used and you can assume normal activities immediately following each treatment. Some pinkness on the treated area may last for about 15-30 minutes. You should increase water intake on the day of treatment and the day after, and should engage in light exercise such as walking to enhance cosmetic results.
Are there any limitations to what I can do during my course of treatment?
No. During the course of treatment you can continue your normal activities. It is strongly recommended that you commit to and follow the treatment protocol: remain well hydrated (8-10 glasses of water a day), continue to eat healthy and exercise (walk at least 30 minutes a day) and abstain from alcohol and caffeine. Alcohol and caffeine interfere with the lymphatic process to remove fat and metabolize it which can decrease your results.
How long does it take to begin seeing results?
Most clients can see results after the first treatment but typically the results improve over the four treatment sessions.
How long do results last?
By maintaining a healthy diet and exercise you can expect long-term results. Exilis is especially ideal for two types of people: those that are already following a healthy diet and lifestyle and want to remove localized pockets of fat AND those who want to use Exilis as motivation to "jump start" their body shaping efforts along with a healthier lifestyle.
What are the side effects?
There have been no significant side effects reported with Exilis treatment.
Who is a candidate for Exilis?
Most people are good candidates. Even people who are not overweight can lose inches. Exilis is an excellent alternative to surgery in many instances.
How soon after pregnancy can I receive Exilis treatments? It is recommended that you wait until after your last postpartum visit with your doctor (usually 6 weeks after birth) to begin your Exilis treatment. It is not recommended if you are breast feeding.
How long has the Exilis technology been used?
It has been available in Europe for four years and FDA approved in the USA in December of 2009.
What is the cost per treatment session?
The cost for the first area of treatment is $350 and $100 for each additional area during the same visit. When you purchase three treatments you receive the fourth treatment free! The size for each treatment area on the body for fat reduction is up to 4" x 8". Treatment areas larger than this will be charged as multiple areas. Skin tightening performed in conjunction with fat reduction is an additional $50 per area.
